The shells can be pushed up to create a 3-Dimensional shape.

Sample
Used Coats Big Ball size 20.

Used 3 rows of plain netting over #3 kn before begining first row of stitch.

Began with 13 loops.


NOTE:
The amount of increase can vary depending on the number of knots placed in loops in rounds/rows 1,4,7 and the number of loops net together in rounds/rows 2,5,8.

STITCH INSTRUCTIONS


 
 
Circular Netting Diamond Mesh Netting
number of loops: multiple of 5 number of loops: (multiple of 5) + 3 loops


 
Round #1 Mesh stick: 3/8" Row #1 Mesh stick: 3/8"
 

Net 1 knot in each loop for 4 loops, net 9 knots in next loop, *net 1 knot in each loop for 5 loops, net 9 knots in next loop*; repeat from * to *.

Net 9 knots in first loop, * net 1 knot in each loop for 5 loops, net 9 knots in next loop*; repeat from * to *.

 
Shell increase stitch - row 1

  
Round 2 Mesh stick: #1 kn Row 2 Mesh stick: #1 kn
 

Without mesh stick net together loop formed by CK and 5 loops to the right of CK (total 6 loops), now with mesh stick *net 1 knot in each loop for 8 loops, net 6 loops together*; repeat from * to *.

Net 1 knot in each loop for 8 loops, net 6 loops together; repeat, ending with net 1 knot in each loop for 9 loops.
