1. Hem the cloth on all sides or outside edge.
2. Beginning at any place desired in the hem, mark the border in 1/8" intervals (or as close as you desire) with a pencil. |

3. To create a loop for the cord to go cut a length of strong crochet thread double the final length desired. Fold the length in half and put it through the holes of a large flat button. |

4. Using a needle, put the crochet thread through to the center of the cloth. |

5. On the wrong side of the cloth create a large loop (similar to the foundation loop in size) by tying the ends of the strong thread together. |

6. For round 1 only, use a sewing needle instead of a netting needle. Thread the needle with approximately 36" of the thread used to make the netting. Put needle into cloth at one mark.
Pull thread through cloth until the thread that has not gone through the cloth is about 12" long. |

7. Tie knot by hand using the thread that is now on each side of the cloth. The knot should rest on the edge of the cloth. |

8. Make remaining knots over a #1 knitting needle (kn). If marks are farther than 1/8", use a larger mesh stick.
Net 1 knot in each mark, net 3 knots in each corner mark (for fullness around corners). |

9. After making a knot at the last mark tie an overhand knot (CK) using the tail of thread left at the beginning of the round and the thread still attached to the sewing needle.
10. Remove sewing needle from thread and tie the thread from the netting needle to the thread the sewing needle was on.
11. On all other rounds use the netting needle and whatever size mesh stick is called for in the pattern instruction. |
