CORRECTING A MISTAKE


In these instructions the word thread = whatever string, cord, twine, rope, or thread you are using to net.

There are two ways to undo a mistake in netting.

Method 1

1. Cut the thread from the needle so that the needle is no longer attached to the netting.

Cut just below each knot that needs to be removed. Make very sure that you do not cut the loop in the previous row or round to which the knot is fastened. Then pull gently on that loop on either side of the knot until the knot pops open.

When all the knots are removed reattach the needle to the work. Method 2 may need to be used here to make sure that the length of the thread coming from the last loop now on the netting is long enough to tie onto the thread coming from the netting needle.

If more than one row or round needs to be removed, cut below each knot in the row or round (which needs to be removed) that is closest to row or round 1.

Untie each knot.

This method works best if just a few knots need to be undone. The easiest way to untie the knots is shown in the diagram.
