Square Mesh Netting

Squares or rectangles can be made with Square-mesh netting.

The netting is worked diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner.

This is the type of netting that would produce a volley-ball, badminton, or table tennis net.

The square-mesh netting, when made with thread, is used as a background for net embroidery or Lacis.

Below are some examples of net embroidery.

Using the pattern from a filet crochet booklet, the Bears were filled in using a darning stitch. The thread used for both the netting and the embroidery was size 70 tatting cotton.
