Many years ago I found a doily I liked on page 46 in a booklet called Filet. It was edited by Eva Tiesler, and published in Germany in 1977. My husband helped me translate the instructions into English. This pattern served as a jumping off point for my imagination. After some changes I had a new center.

Round 1	mesh stick: #7 kn Form a grommet with 12 loops (last one tied by hand).	12 knots in round

Rounds 2-3	mesh stick: #7 kn Net 1 knot in each loop.	12 knots in round

Round 4	mesh stick: 3/8″ In loop formed by CK net 7 more knots, in all other loops net 8 knots.	96 knots in round

Rounds 5-10	mesh stick: #3 kn Net 1 knot in each loop.	96 knots in round

Round 11	mesh stick: #3 kn Net 1 knot in each loop for 3 loops, * to create point net 7 loops together, net 1 knot in each loop for 9 loops.	60 knots in round
